Testing the Fat Quarter Skirt by Thread Riding Hood

Toch nog een berichtje hier. Achter de schermen wordt er druk gewerkt aan een nieuwe site, daarover later (hopelijk) meer. Een week of wat geleden testte ik voor Sherri van Thread Riding Hood haar Fat Quarter Skirt patroon. Een heel eenvoudig rokpatroon waarbij je niet meer dan twee 'Fat Quarters' nodig hebt. Ik gebruikte een restant zwarte ribstof en het achterpand van een blouse van mijn vader. Resultaat: Een snel leuk rokje voor kleine Y.

Behind the scenes we're working on a new site. In the meantime I've tested the Fat Quarter Skirt for Sherri from Thread Riding Hood. An easy skirt pattern for which you only need two Fat Quarters. I used a scrap of black rib and the back of one of my fathers blouses. The result: a cute skirt of little Y. 

 

Het rokpatroon is uitermate geschikt voor de beginnende naaister, maar uiteraard ook voor iedereen die houd van snelle projectjes en zogenaamde stash busters. Noa completes Y's summer wardrobe

Ik mocht van mezelf voorlopig even geen meisjes naaipatronen meer kopen. Voornamelijk omdat de kledingkast van Z uitpuilt en ik dus voorlopig even niet voor haar naai en Y oude kleertjes van Z past. Alleen is Y geboren in een ander seizoen dan Z. Dus waar Z voornamelijk winterkleding nodig had in maat 86, heeft Y zomerkleding nodig. En toen kwam de Noa Pants van Compagnie-M uit. Dit is het eerste patroon uit de Special Basics Collection van Compangie-M. Een lijn met snelle, makkelijke patronen maar wel met Compagnie-M details. Ik was meteen verkocht, maar ja, meisjes patroon he... Of toch niet? Ik ging overstag toen ik las dat het patroon een patroon voor zowel jongens als meisjes is.

I had forbidden myself to buy sewing patterns for girls lately. Mainly becouse Z's wardrobe is overloaded with clothes, so I won't sew her something soon. And Y fits in Z's old clothes. But Y and Z are born in different seasons. So Z was 18 months in late Autumn / Winter, while Y is 18 months in Spring / Summer. And than Compagnie-M released the Noa Pants, the first pattern in the Special Basics Collection. A collection which includes easy and quick projects with special Compagnie-M details. I was in love, immedeatly. Only sewing pattern for girls...? Or isn't it? When I read it was a sewing pattern for boys and girls I knew I had to buy the pattern. 

Deze broek, en vooral dit maatje, is ideaal voor het verwerken van restjes. Ik gebruikte de restjes van een Ethan(a) shirt dat ik ooit voor Z maakte. De belofte 'snel en makkelijk'  wordt echt waargemaakt in dit patroon. Bij de zak is het goed opletten wat de voor- en achterkant is, maar het zit echt zó in elkaar. Als er ooit een variant voor volwassenen komt, houd ik me aanbevolen ;)

This pattern, and especially this size, is ideal for sewing up some scraps. I used the scraps of an Ethan(a) shirt I sewed for Z before. The promise of an 'easy and quick' sewing pattern was fulfilled. It was a real quick and easy sew. If this pattern is ever released for adults, I need to have one ;)

Ik ben altijd gek van details. De speciale zak is natuurlijk een opvallend detail. Ik gebruikte contrasterend oranje voor de zak. Ook van kleine details ben ik fan.  Meestal worden die door een ander niet opgemerkt, maar ik wordt daar vrolijk van.  Dus pas ik ze hier en daar graag toe.

I love details. The pocket in this pattern is a striking detail, of course. I used contrasting orange for the pocket. I also love little details. Most of them are never seen by others, but they make me happy. So I like to apply them now and then.

In het patroon wordt aangeraden de flap van de zak door te stikken. Hiervoor gebruikte ik (onopvallend) petrol blauw garen, omdat ik dit stiksel er niet uit wilde laten springen.

The pattern reccomends to topstitch the pocket flap. I used (discrete) petrol blue thread, becouse I didn't want to let it stand out. 

Iets wat niet wordt voorgeschreven, maar wat ik gewoon leuk vond om te doen, is het doorstikken van de zaknaden. Hiervoor gebruikte ik juist oranje, contrasterend garen.

I also topstitched the pockets hem. This was not reccomendend but I just liked to do this. Here I used a contrasting orange thread.

Ik twijfelde of ik een elastiek door de pijpen zou laten lopen. Uiteindelijk besloot ik dit wel te doen, dit geeft de broek een iets meer meisjes uitstraling. Achteraf gezien had het elastiek iets minder strak gekund, maar het kan er mee door.

I wasn't sure about the finishing of the hems. Finally I decided to pull an elastic trough, to give the pants a girly look. Looking back I shoud've made the elastic a bit longer, but it's just fine now.

Vanwege de vele kleurtjes in de broek, is hij goed te combineren met verschillende kleuren shirts. Ik twijfelde over het roze shirt dat ze aan heeft in de foto's, maar ik vind het wel kunnen qua kleur.

Becouse of the many colors in the pants, we are able to comine it  with shirts in different colors. I wasn't sure about the pink shirt she is wearing in the pics, but it turned out nice.

Op de zak wilde ik eigenlijk nog fel groene knoopjes naaien. Maar ze had de broek al aan, voor ik er aan toe kwam en eigenlijk vind ik het ook wel goed zo. Het motief van de broek is wel druk genoeg zo ;)

I was intended to add green buttons on the pocket flaps. But Y was wearing the pants before I had sewed them on. After all, the print is busy enough and doesn't need an extra detail.

2 Dyyni's for little Y

Vorig jaar, rond mijn verjaardag (september), kwam het tweede patroon van Pienkel, de Dyyni rok voor meisjes uit. Ik deed mezelf dit patroon cadeau voor mijn verjaardag. Later kwam de rok ook in baby maatjes uit, deze krijg je gratis als je inschrijft op de nieuwsbrief van Pienkel. Ideaal, want het meisjes patroon begint bij maat 86 en dat was nog te groot voor Y. Maar toen begon Y te groeien, ze groeide maat 80 voorbij en had niet genoeg zomer broekjes / rokjes meer. Na al m'n naaiwerk voor S, besloot ik de kast van Y ook aan te vullen. En de Dyyni werd als eerste boven water gehaald.

Last year Pienkel published her 2nd pattern, the Dyyni skirt for girls. I bought it as a brithday gift for myself, in September. Later on the Dyyni skirt for baby's was born. This one you get for free when you subscribe to Pienkels Newsletter. Ideal, becouse around that time the Dyyni skirt for girls was to large for Y. The size of this skirt start at 18 months, while she still wore 12 months. But Y started to grow and size 12 months didn't fit anymore. After sewing for S, I decided Y could use some handsewed clothes also. I started with the Dyyni for girls.

Ik begon met de meest eenvoudige versie: een laag en geen zakken. In een dunne jeansstof. Mooi voor in de zomer, met leggings of een maillot ook prima voor de herfst.

The first skirt I sewed was the most easy version: one layer and no pockets. The fabric is a thin jeans. Nice for summer, with some leggings or tights also suitable for autumn. 

Ik werd helemaal blij van dit patroontje. Best eenvoudig en zit zó in elkaar. Dus ik maakte er nog één. Deze keer de variant met 2 lagen en een koordje in de zijnaad. Hiervoor gebruikte ik een restant van de jurk die ik vorig jaar voor Z maakte. De bijpassende paarse stof was op, dus daar bestelde ik nog een halve meter van bij SewNatural.

Sewing this skirt made me happy. It's a quite simple and quick sew. So I made an other one. This one has two layers and a ruche on the side seam. I used some left over fabrics from the dress I sewed for Z last year. There was no matching purple fabric left, so I ordered some more at SewNatural.

Ik koos er voor om Franse naden te gebruiken (tutorial). Samen met de afwerking met biaisband, ziet dat er best professioneel uit, al zeg ik het zelf :)

I sewed French seams (tutorial). Toghether with the baisband finising on the hem, it looks quite professional, I think :)
 

Deze keer lukte het me om een heuse fotoshoot te doen met onze bewegelijke peuter (20 maanden inmiddels). Dus houd je vast, hier komen wat foto's op model aan. Het rokje zit mooi, maatje 80 had misschien ook nog wel gepast, maar van deze heeft ze hopelijk langer plezier :)

This time I was able to take pictures of little Y. She doesn't stand still, what can you expect from a 20 month old toddler. So sit back and enjoy some cute pictures of our model. I sewed a size 18 m for her. I guess a 12m would fit also, but I hope she doesn't grow out of these skirts very fast. 

 

Ik werd zo enthousiast van dit patroontje, dat ik ook meteen de dames versie heb gekocht én de Fjara tanktop voor meisjes. Inmiddels is de Fjara voor dames ook uit! Die komt ook in mijn verzameling. Heeft er iemand nog wat tijd in de aanbieding? Dan kan ik eens alles gaan naaien wat ik in mijn hoofd heb ;)

I did get so enthousiastic about this pattern, I decided to buy the ladies version also and the Fjara tanktop for girls. In the meantime Pienkel also released the Fjara for ladies! That's one for my collection too. I wish I could buy some time also. That way I would be able to sew everything I have in mind ;)

Wat moet ik er nog van zeggen? Als je van snelle projectjes houdt met mooi resultaat dan is dit echt een ideaal patroon.

What else can I say? If you like quick sews with nice results, this is an ideal pattern.

Billie Trio

De afgelopen tijd heb ik best wat genaaid, maar weinig geblogd. Ik ga eens een poging doen dit in te halen... Een van de projecten was wat Billie bandwerk. Normaal gezien houd ik niet zo van bandwerk. Maar Billie is een veelzijdig patroon, waardoor ik drie heel verschillende Billies achter elkaar kon produceren. Eentje voor Y en twee voor S.

I've been quite productive on the sewing part, but quite behind on the blogging part lately. I'll try to catch up... One of the projects was some Billie line work. Normally I don't like line work. But Billie is a versatile pattern, so I could sew three completely different Billies in a row. One for Y and two for S.

Het oranje shirtje is een exemplaar voor Y. Dit is de meest eenvoudige versie van de drie geworden. Gewoon recht toe - recht aan, mouwen en lijf omgezoomd en een eenvoudige halsboord. Het stofje kocht ik vorig voorjaar op een stoffenmarkt.  Het is een vrij fel kleurtje, wat niet helemaal tot z'n recht komt in deze foto's. Ik gebruikte het stofje vorig jaar voor een jurk voor Z. De felle kleur komt in die foto's beter tot z'n recht. Aan-foto's van een bewegelijke 1,5-jarige maken is lastig en helaas voor dit shirt niet gelukt.

The orange shirt is the one for Y. This was the most simple one of the three. Just, straight on, hemmed the sleeves and the body and made a simple neckband. I've bought the fabric on a market last year. The colour is quite bright, these pictures do not do justice to the color. I used the same fabric last year for a dress for Z. The brightness of the colour is more visible in those pictures. Pictures of little Y wearing the shirt are difficult to make. This time it didn't work out sadly, so no pictures of a cute model wearing a nice shirt ;)
 

Voor S maakte ik een versie in legerprint en in de stof Ride a Bike van Poppy. Beide stofjes kocht ik bij Stoffenfeest.

For S I made a version in armyprint and a version in the fabric Ride a Bike by  Poppy. Both fabrics are from Stoffenfeest.

Het legershirt werd gewoon omgezoomd en kreeg een eenvoudige halsboord.

The army shirt has a simple hem and a simple neckband.

De mouwen zoomde ik om met de verkeerde kant naar buiten, dat vond ik voor dit shirt een leuk effect hebben.

I hemmed the sleeves with the wrong side out, for a sturdy look on this shirt.
 

Tijdens het naaien besloot ik dat de zijnaad dan een Franse naad moest worden, zodat je geen onafgewerkt randje zou zien bij de mouw. Hiervoor gebruikte ik deze tutorial. Ik had de stof echter al geknipt, zonder de extra benodigde naadwaarde. Ik maakte de naad dus wat smaller. Het shirt zit nu iets strakker. Maar doordat de stof vrij dun en zeer rekbaar is, is dat geen probleem.

While sewing I decided to make a fench seam from the side seam, so there wouldn't a unfinished edge be visible on the sleeve. I used this tutorial (here an English tutorial). The fabric was cutted already, without the extra seamallowence. So I made the seam a bit more narrow. The shirt has a tighter fit now, but this isn't a problem as the fabric is thin and verry strechy. 
 

Het shirt met de fietsjes heeft de meeste details gekregen.

The bicycle shirt has gotten the most details.
 
Hierbij naaide ik de boorden aan de mouwen en de hals aan als biasband, wat ik doorstikte met een tweelingnaald. Als boordstof gebruikte ik de zelfde stof, alleen gebruikte ik de verkeerde kant aan de buitenkant.

I finished the sleeves and neckline with a band like it was biaistape. And top stiched them with a twinneedle. I used the wrong side of the bicycle fabric for them.
 

Eerlijk gezegd vind ik deze afwerking van de boordjes het mooiste. Dit ga ik vaker doen, denk ik.

I like this way of finishing the hems, I think I would do this more often.

Dit shirt kreeg ook een zakje, waar S het liefst van alles in zou stoppen... Ook hiervoor gebruikte ik de verkeerde kant van de stof als buitenkant.

I added a pocket to the shirt. S would put the world in it, if he had the change... Here it's also the wrong side of the mainfabric you see.
 

Goed... dan is het nu tijd voor de aan foto's van de shirts voor S. Hij speelde toevallig net modeshowtje met Z, dus dat kwam mooi uit... :)

So... time to show some pictures of the t-shirts on the model. S was playing fashion show with Z, so I could play the photographer... :)

For a little chef

Of ik een koksmuts kon maken, vroeg mijn zusje. Het zoontje van een vriendin werd 3 jaar en helpt graag in de keuken. En ze kon nergens een leuke koksmuts vinden. Ik dook in mijn stoffenvoorraad en zocht twee stofjes uit voor een schort en muts. Ik gebruikte deze tutorial. Voor het schort gebruikte ik een patroon dat ik zelf al eens had getekend. Dit schort is wat korter (55 cm) en daardoor geschikt voor een kleine chefkok. Met behulp van wat freezer paper en textielverf voorzag ik het schort van een opdruk, volgens deze tutorial.

My sister asked if I could make a chef hat. The son of a friend of hers turned 3 and likes to help his mommy in the kitchen. A nice chef hat was hard to find. I dived into my stash and chose two fabrics for an apron and chef hat. I used this tutorial. I used a pattern I've drewn before. This one is shorter than the one in the turorial  (21,5 inch / 55 cm), and more suiteble for a little chef. With a little help of some freezer paper and textile paint I painted his name on the apron, using this tutorial.

Het neklint heeft knoopsgaten en aan de achterkant van het schort zit een knoopje. Zo kan het schort met de chef meegroeien.

The neck ribbon has button holes and on the back of the apron there is a button. This way the apron is able to grow with the chef. 

Ook de muts kan met de chef meegroeien, door dat de hoofdband verstelbaar is. Ideaal. Naar verluid was de chef heel blij met zijn schort en muts. Dat is toch altijd de kroon op je werk :)

 The hat is also able to grow with the chef, becouse of the adjustable headband. Ideal. Reportedly the chef was very happy with his apron and hat. This is always a crowning glory :)

Nivalis Birthday Dress

Een tijd geleden kocht ik bij SewNatural twee kleuren van de Batgirl tricot (wit en roze) en een papieren versie van het patroon Billie van Zonen09. Het idee was om shirtjes voor de zusjes te maken. Maar toen Z de stof zag wilde ze er een jurk van hebben. Een zwierjurk welteverstaan. Ik bestelde van beide stoffen 1,5 meter, dus uit een zo'n lap ging een zwierjurk niet lukken. Maar toen ik deze versie van de Nivalis Dress zag, wist ik wat het zou worden. Z was het met mij eens. Het zou een Nivalis Dress worden. Eentje voor haar, als verjaardagsjurk en een voor Y. Gelukkig vindt Z het nu nog erg schattig als Y dezelfde kleding als haar draagt. Er gaat vast een tijd komen dat ze dit niet meer leuk vindt.

A while ago I bought white and pink Batgirl tricot at SewNatural, and a paper version of the pattern Billie by Zonen09. The original idea was to make shirts for the sisters. Only, when Z saw the fabric she wanted a dress from it. A twirly dress to be exact. I ordered 1,5 meters of both fabrics, so a twirly dress in one color wasn't an option. When I saw this version of the Nivalis Dress, I knew what it would be. Z agreed. It was going to be a Nivalis Dress. One for her as a birthday dress and one for Y. She still likes it when her little sister wheres the same as she does. I think this will change over time... 

Uit de 1,5 meter kreeg ik voor Z precies een Nivalis Dress. Ik koos voor optie B met colorblock. Als ik ooit nog een bolero voor een van de dames nodig heb, weet ik nu welk patroon ik ga hacken... ;)

I was able to cut a dress out of the 1,5 meter I had. I've choosen option B with coorblock. When I ever need a bolero for one of the girls, I know what pattern I wil hack... ;)

Op verzoek van Z heeft de jurk lange mouwen. Ik vond dat wel een goed idee. De jurk van vorig jaar had korte mouwen en dat bleek toch wel wat fris nog in april.

Z wanted the dress to have long sleeves. I agreed. Last years dress had short sleeves and that was kind of chilly for April.

Bij de jurk van Y maakte ik een zwarte legging en bij de jurk van Z een witte. Z is het hier eigenlijk niet mee eens, ze wilde ook een zwarte. Maar de witte stof van de jurk schijnt een beetje door, zeker met iets donkers daar onder. Dat vind ik niet zo mooi.

I made black leggings to go with the dress of Y and a white one for Z. Z disagrees on this, she would like to have black leggings also. But as the tricot is white, you can see dark colors trough it. I think that's not so pretty. 

Voor Y maakte ik alles in maat 80. Het past haar mooi. Even was ik bang dat haar hoofd er misschien niet door zou passen, maar dat is geen probleem. Voor Z maakte ik maat 122. In de lengte heeft ze dit zeker nodig. In de breedte is dat een ander verhaal, vooral bij de legging. Maar het staat gelukkig allemaal netjes.

The dress and leggings for Y are a size 80 (12 m). It fits nicely. I was afraid her head wouldn't fit trough, but its no problem. For Z I used size 122 (7Y). She needs it for the lengt, with isn't the case for the width. But I think it turned out well.
 

Bij deze fotoshoot had ze toevallig heel toepasselijke sokken aan ;)

Het eerste projectje voor haar - The first project for her

Een jaar en twee maanden oud is Y al weer. En nu pas heb ik voor het eerst iets voor haar genaaid. Dat werd wel tijd... Ach, ze heeft niet te klagen hoor, ik haakte 9 maanden aan een deken voor haar en de CAL deken wordt ook voor haar gebruikt. En aan de haak projectjes heb ik toch altijd meer werk dan aan de naai projecten.

Maar goed, ik heb wat voor haar genaaid dus. Een jurkje en een legging. Beiden in maat 80, beiden uit Ottobre 2014/1. Twee snel-klaar-projectjes dacht ik.

One year and two months old. That's Y's age. It took me until now to sew her something. It was about time... Well, she doesn't have to complain eighter. I made her a blanket that took me about 9 months to crochet, and the CAL blanket is beeing used for her only. 

Ok, I sewed her something. A dress and a legging. Both size 80 (12 months), both patterns are from Ottobre 2014/1. Two quick sew projects, I tought.
 

Nou ja. Maar in de jurk zitten plooitjes aan de hals en de mouwen. Die je dus eerst moet vouwen, strijken, stikken. En dan komt de perfectionist in mij naar boven en vind ik dat het perfect moet zitten. En dan kost zo'n simpel jurkje ineens wat meer tijd dan gedacht...

Well... The dress has pleats in the neckline and on top of the sleeves. So that included folding, ironing, stiching. And than I become a perfectionist and it has to be perfect. And than sewing someting quick isn't as quick as you would think first.

Met de mouwen maakte ik me er wel wat makkelijker vanaf. Eigenlijk moet je die eerst rimpelen en vervolgens de boord aannaaien. De boord is wat korter dan de mouw was, dus die naaide ik gewoon aan terwijl ik de boord wat aantrok. Daardoor ontstaan de rimpels ook :)

I made it myself easy with the sleeves. They had to be wrinkled before sewing. But I sewed the wristband straight on. As the cuff is shorter than the sleeve piece is, the sleeve gets wrinkled when sewing it on.

De legging hoort eigenlijk rond de knieën gerimpeld te zijn, maar daar had ik niet genoeg stof voor. Ik kortte het patroon voor het voorpand in, zodat de rimpels achterwege bleven.

The legging is supposed to have wrinkles at knee hight. But I didn't have enough fabric for that. So I shortened the pattern and left the wrinkles behind.

Resultaat: een vrolijk setje voor onze vrolijke Y :)

Bruidsjurk - Wedding Dress

Het is al weer 3 weken geleden dat ik het volgende schreef: De stof voor de outfit van Z hangt aan de lijn te wapperen en het patroon is al uitgeknipt. Ik heb nog 2 weken om de boel in elkaar te zetten... Dat moet te doen zijn ;)
Inmiddels zijn we dus 3 weken verder, in plaats van 2, je zou denken dat het dus niet te doen was. Maar de jurk was op tijd klaar. Alleen was het in de dagen niet echt weer om buiten foto's te maken. En buiten foto's vind ik toch mooier... Dus vierden we eerst feest (in de jurk) en streek ik de jurk een dag later opnieuw om nog wat foto's te maken.

It's been 3 weeks since I wrote: The fabric for Z's outfit is fluttering on the clothesline now and the pattern is waiting. In 2 weeks it should be finished... That should be doable...
Three weeks later you should think I didn't make it, but I did! The weather wasn't very nice when I finished the dress and I prefer to take pictures outside. So we went to the party (with the dress). The day after we took some pictures after I ironed the dress. 

Het patroon van deze jurk kreeg ik cadeau!* Het is de Iridis jurk met cirkel rok add-on van Sofilantjes.Ik liet Z zelf de stofjes uitzoeken in bij Sew Natural (inmiddels wel mijn favoriete [online] stoffenwinkel...). Uiteindelijk koos ze deze. Tja, voor de cirkel rok heb je behoorlijk wat stof nodig. Ik was dus niet van plan de hele jurk in deze stof te maken. In online shops vind ik het altijd moeilijk te zien of twee verschillende stoffen goed combineren. Daarom vroeg ik Marieke (van Sew Natural) om stofadvies. Zij kwam met twee effen stoffen die er mooi bij pasten: Roze en Paars. Ze stuurde een foto waarbij de stoffen naast elkaar lagen, zodat we zelf goed konden kiezen. Ik vond de roze wel mooi, maar daar dacht Z anders over (ik moet eens leren omgekeerde psychologie toe te passen ;) ). Dus werd het de paarse. Ik moet zeggen: Z heeft een goede smaak. De kleuren staan haar echt prachtig. Ze heeft een beetje blauw, groen, grijze ogen en daar staat de bloemetjes stof prachtig bij. Ook de paarse stof combineert heel mooi met de bloemetjes stof.

The pattern was a gift* from Anne from Sofilantjes. It's her Iridis dress with circle skirt add-on. Z did choose the fabrics online at Sew Natural (which became my favorite [online] fabric store). Finaly she choosed this fabric. I didn't want to sew the whole dress in this fabric. In online stores I find it hard to see if two fabrics match. So I asked Marieke from Sew Natural for some advise. She found two fabrics which were great matches with the flower fabric: Pink and Purple. She did send me a picture so I could see for myself. I thought pink would be nice, but Z disagreed (I realy should learn how to use reverse psychology ;) ). So purple it would be. I have to admit: Z has a great taste of colours. The colours look great on her.  She has blue, green, grey eyes which matches the fabric with the flowers. The purple fabric then matches the flower fabric very well.

Ik bestelde de stof ruim, omdat ik de jurk helemaal wilde afwerken met baisband. Ik knipte eerst de patroondelen uit en vervolgens maakte ik meters baisband. Het lint knipte ik deze keer op deze manier. Dat is even wennen, maar het werkt stukken sneller!

I ordered a bit more fabric than I thought I needed, becouse I wanted to finish the dress with biais tape. First I cut out the pattern pieces and after that I made a lot of biaisis tape. This time I did cut the tape like this. You have to get used to this, but when you do it's way faster!

De mouwen van de jurk paste ik aan. Ik maakte de mouwen op elleboog lengte. Hier zette ik een cirkel aan vast. Dit geeft de jurk een nog feestelijkere uitstraling, vind ik.

I altered the pattern pieces for the sleeves. I made them at elbow length and added a circle piece to them. 

Nog steeds had ik restjes over. Daarom maakte ik nog een haarband, volgens dit patroon. Ik houd van snelle projectjes en dit is er zo een! In een half uur heb je een mooie haarband! Z wil graag lang haar maar daar wil ze dan liever niets in. Zo'n haarband is dan een mooi compromis. Ze heeft haar haar toch los en het zit niet alsmaar in haar gezicht.

Becouse I still had some fabric left, I made a headband with this pattern. I like quick sewing project and this is one! In half an hour you have a nice headband! Z wants to have her hear long, but refuses to wear it in a tail. This headband is a nice comprimse. She is able to wear her hear loose, and it doesn't get in her face all the time. 

Z is heel blij met haar jurk. En niet in de laatste plaats omdat je er mee kan zwieren!

Z likes her dress a lot. The twirl factor of this dress is one of the main reasons for her liking this dress, I guess.

Deze jurk was dus bedoeld voor het bruiloftsfeest van mijn zusje. Dan mag je natuurlijk niet mooier zijn dan de bruid. Hoewel het zwier gehalte van de echte bruidsjurk niet zo groot was als van Z haar jurk, kon ik toch niet aan de echte bruidsjurk tippen, vond ik zelf. Maar oordeel vooral zelf:

This dress was made for the wedding of my sister. You can't be more beautiful then the bride is, on her wedding, can you? While the twirl factor of the real wedding dress wasn't as great as the twirl factor of Z's dress, I couldn't compete with the wedding dress. See for yourself:
