(Terwijl ik deze post schrijf, spelen de kinderen lekker - met-zonder-jas - buiten. En zit ik - ook met-zonder-jas - buiten in het zonnetje, heerlijk!)
De overall,
waar ik eerder over schreef, is af. En aangezien het lekker weer is, heb ik er ook al foto's van kunnen maken. Foto's maak ik het liefste buiten, dat geeft - vind ik - het mooiste resultaat. Hoewel er best wel wat fout ging tijdens het maken van deze overall, ben ik toch wel tevreden met het resultaat.

I've finished the
coverall, I wrote about before. And becouse of the nice weather, it also
was possible to take pictures. I prefer to take pictures outside,
becouse I think it gives the best result. Although I made some mistakes,
while sewing this coverall, I'm happy with the result.
Voor mijn 2 jarige man, maakte ik een maat 4 (4 jaar, dus), aangezien de overall over zijn andere kleding aangetrokken moet worden. In de breedte past hij prima over zijn kleding, in de lengte is hij, zoals te verwachten was aan de lange kant. Daarom heb ik de zoom afgewerkt met en soort van biaisband, zodat hij er ook omgeslagen mooi uit ziet.
For my little 2-year old man, I made a size 4 (4 years), becouse the coverall has to go over his other clothes. For fitting over his clothes, the width was just right. It's too long, as was to be expected. Therefore, I finished the hem with a kind of baistape, so it looks nice when the hem is flipped over.
Het lijkt nu alsof de band op de kop zit, maar dit is expres zo gedaan. Als de zoom namelijk omgeslagen wordt, staan de afbeeldingen goed! :)
Now it looks like the tape is upside down, but I did this on purpose. When the hem is flipped over, the pictures are standing up! :)
Omdat ik de mouwen te kort afknipte, heb ik deze op de zelfde manier afgewerkt met biaisband. Hier heb ik rood biaisband gebruikt.
Becouse I did cut the sleeve pieces to short, I finished them in the same way. Here I used red baistape.
Zoals ik
eerder schreef, was de originele kraag te kort. Daarom heb ik zelf een kraag getekend. Zoals je kan zien is het met de kraag helemaal goed gekomen.
As I wrote before, the original collar was too short. So I drew a collar myself. As you can see it all ended up well for the collar.
Hoewel niet volgens patroon, voorzag ik de overall van knielappen. Ik heb wat geworsteld met het vinden van de juiste plaats hiervoor. Uiteindelijk heb ik ze te laag geplaatst en zijn het nu meer scheenlapen dan knielappen. Maar toch wel erg schattig... :)
Although the pattern doesn't prescribe it, I provided the coverall with knee pads. I did struggle to find the right place for them. Eventually they turned out to be to low. Now they are more shin pads as they are knee pads. But they are cute, aren't they...? :)
Als je de knip- en de naai-instructies goed bestudeerd, dan weet je dat je het voor- en achterpand in één stuk moet knippen, dus inclusief de passen. De passen knip je later nog eens apart en die leg je over de schouders. Als je het allemaal goed leest... Maar ik las het blijkbaar niet goed genoeg. Want ik knipte dat los en naaide de passen aan. Dat was vooral aan de voorkant toch wel lastig en voor wie goed kijkt, kan zien dat dit niet helemaal netjes zit... Nou ja, gelukkig is het geen feestkleding, maar buitenspeelkleding. Maar voor de perfectionistische ikke stoort het toch wel een beetje. Ik denk dat die perfectionistische ikke haar mond dan maar even moet houden ;).
When you closely study the cut- and sew instructions, you know you have to cut front and back in one part, including the yokes. You have to cut the yokes separately, and put them over the shoulders, later. When you study the instructions closely... Apparently I didn't. I did cut the yokes separatly, and didn't cut the front and back as one part with the yokes. So I had to sew the yokes on. It did make my work more difficult, especially on the front. When you take a closer look, you could see the front isn't as neat as it should be... Well, fortunately it isn't a partydress, it's a pair of playing pants. Though it bothers my perfectionist self a little. I gues my perfectionist self has to keep quiet for a while. ;)
En dan nu onze kleine man. Die vond het geweldig en is helemaal weg van zijn 'broek', zoals hij het zelf noemt. Het staat hem ook erg schattig (zei de trotse mama, lekker objectief). Na de fotosessie wilde hij hem niet meer uit doen. Nog geen half uur later was de overall al vuil. Maar ja, daar is hij voor bedoeld, toch? Vanochtend zag hij hem liggen en riep hij meteen: mooi! Een beter compliment kan je niet krijgen. De combinatie van kleuren en stoffen maakt dit een overall met een Hollands tintje. Alles wat nu eigenlijk nog mist is een blonde krullenbos en een paar klompen.

(Dutch for pants) as he calls his coverall. It looks cute on him (the proud mama said, very objectivily). After the photoshoot he wanted to keep it on. Within half an hour the coverall became durty. Well, that's why you put it on, isn't it? This morning, he saw it and immediatly called:mooi!
(Dutch for beautiful) Can you get a better compliment? The combination of fabrics and colors makes it a coverall with a Dutch twist. All we need are some blonde curly hairs and a pair of woodenshoes.
(Nu ik klaar ben met de post en hem ga publiceren, zit ik weer binnen. Na te genieten van een heerlijke lentedag. Morgen weer zo één!)
