Gepersonaliseerde tas - Personalized bag

Gelukkig 2015!

Happy 2015! I wanted to start 2015 right by posting a sewing project. It's about time. We didn't give the project away to who it's made for, but it's my first sewing project after my pregnancy. And it fits in de sew-along of Naaikrans 2.0, an initiative of Pienkel, Joyfits, Stofilantjes and Huisje Boompje Boefjes.

One of the teachers of Z is a trainee. If I remember well, the traineeship ends in January. Normaly we are informed about that about a week before the traineeship ends. And I can't think up and make a present that quick. I found this bag on Pinterest and I think it's a nice teacher gift. As opposed to the maker of this bag, I wanted to sew the bag myself and decorate it with textile markers, in stead of embroider it on. I think embroider is to much work (no, I found sewing the bag myself  not to much work. No there is no logic in this...). I used the letters such as Z learns them at school. (To translate the text in the picture: Juf is Mrs or Miss.).

I made the bag with Z. She helped me to lead the fabric in the right direction. I sewed a lable in the bag on which I wrote: gemaakt door: (made by). Z wrote her name and added en mama (and mommy) :). She loved to do this.

I hope to write a tutorial about making this bag. In this I'll explain how to sew the bag and how to decorate it with textile markers.

  1. This is so cute! I've wanted to make a tote like this for a long time - I love that it looks like a piece of paper :) And I like that you didn't embroider it... much faster!
